Nursing Faculty Member Hired for Growing Program

Posted by Janae Melvin on June 28, 2017 in Dr. Diann DeWitt joined Ottawa University as a full-time faculty member for the fast-growing Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

DeWitt comes to OU from Colorado Christian University in Northglenn, CO, where had she served as a professor and the director of their RN-BSN program since 2008. DeWitt has more than 20 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing, critical-care nursing, hospital administration, nursing research, and nursing education. She is also active in the Nurses Christian Fellowship; the Arizona Nurses Association where she serves as a Peer Reviewer of Continuing Education; the Arizona League for Nursing as the Conference Planning Chairperson; the Arizona Organization of Nurse Executives as an education committee member; Sigma Theta Tau International; and has co-authored a book chapter in Teaching
in Nursing.

DeWitt holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from Indiana University – Purdue University at Indianapolis; a Master of Science in Adult Health Nursing from the University of Illinois; and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois. In addition, she holds certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE).
