Smith’s Coaching Success on the Links is Recognized

Posted by Janae Melvin on June 28, 2017 in Ottawa University head men’s golf coach was named KCAC Men’s Golf Coach of the Year it was announced by the conference office at the KCAC Men’s Golf Championships. It is Smith’s second KCAC Men’s Golf Coach of the Year honor, his third overall. He earned the honor in 2008 and was named KCAC Women’s Coach of the Year in 2016.

“It is certainly an honor to be selected by your peers for the coach of the year award,” said Smith. “This is certainly a team award and our guys earned it for their efforts at the conference championship. They showed a significant improvement from the first conference tournament at Terradyne, but we actually just played to our potential.”

He led the Braves to a third place, fifth overall in the standings in the KCAC, at the KCAC Championships.
