|Dr. Karla Larson grew up in Oregon and competed her undergraduate degree at Bethel University in St Paul, MN. Her Masters was completed at the University of Minnesota as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and her original research was "Death Attitudes and Anxiety of Nursing Home Staff". Her PhD was completed at Capella University in Adult and Post-secondary Education. Her dissertation was a nationwide study and called "Intercultural Sensitivity of Nursing Faculty". She has served in many areas of nursing from hospital, homecare, hospice, management, nurse practitioner, an inpatient case manager. Her career in academia spans nearly 20 years where she has served at all levels from ADN to DNP in faculty, Dean and Director positions. She has taught both face-to-face and online since 2006 and has written curriculum for many programs. She served as a medical missionary in the remote jungles of Honduras for three years. She has been married to her best friend since 1983 and together they have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren.
