Clayton Sikorski Named OUAZ Head Men’s & Women’s Golf Coach

Surprise, AZ. – OUAZ Director of Athletics, Kevin Steele, is pleased to announce the hiring of Clayton Sikorski as the head men’s and women’s golf coach.
“The Spirit golf teams will be in great hands with the addition of one of the young shining stars in collegiate golf coaching,” said OUAZ Director of Athletics Kevin Steele. “Clayton (Sikorski) has proven himself as a player, an assistant coach and as a head coach that he knows how to elevate programs and do it in the right way. I am so pleased that he and his wife, Brittany have agreed to join our Spirit family. I am even more excited for the young people who will benefit from his excellent leadership.”
Before heading to the Valley of the Sun, Sikorski was the head men’s and women’s golf coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. While at OKWU, the men’s team reached 14th in the NAIA Men’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, while the women’s team went from the 105th ranking in the NAIA, to 55th in one semester under his guidance.
“I had a great experience at OKWU, but this is a fantastic opportunity for my family,” said Sikorski. “To be a part of such a great staff and university is something I am really excited for.”
Sikorski continued, “I am excited for the future of the OUAZ golf programs. I believe we can achieve great success with both programs; both inside and outside the classroom. Surprise is fantastic city, with great resources for the players to take advantage of. The support for the university from the city of Surprise has been unbelievable and I look forward to working with them going forward.”
Prior to being the head coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Clayton was the graduate assistant for two years. During that time he coached the 2014 NCCAA National Champion. He was also a part of a coaching staff that won the first conference tournament in program history, when they won the 2016 KCAC Men’s Golf Championship. They qualified for the first NAIA Championship in school history, where the team finished 16th.
Clayton and his wife Brittany have recently relocated to Surprise.
