OUAZ Names Melanie Nemerguth Head Cheer & Dance Coach

Surprise, AZ. – OUAZ Director of Athletics, Kevin Steele, is pleased to announce the hiring of Melanie Nemerguth as the head cheer and dance coach for the Ottawa Spirit at the campus in Surprise, Arizona.
“Melanie (Nemerguth) is already having a positive impact on young people all over the Valley of the Sun as an instructor and as an Arizona Cardinals cheerleader,” said OUAZ Director of Athletics Kevin Steele. “She brings years of experience to OUAZ. I believe it will pay huge dividends for those fortunate enough to be a part of her programs. Melanie prepared well for this position and is poised to make our programs great, while at the same time, mentoring young ladies as they navigate the maze that is college and preparation for life thereafter. Her infectious smile, undeniable talent, and evident intelligence make her uniquely qualified to lead these significant programs.”
Nemerguth has a background in studio dance and has been a studio dance instructor for more than five years. In 2015, Nemerguth was a cheerleader for the former St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL). In 2016, Nemerguth made the Arizona Cardinals’ cheerleading team, and just recently found out that she also made the team for the 2017 season. Coach Nemerguth will cheer at all ten home games (preseason and regular season), along with any postseason games and special events.
“I am excited to be given the opportunity to build the OUAZ cheer and dance program,” said Nemerguth. “I would like to thank Director of Athletics Kevin Steele, for inviting me to join the OUAZ family as we embark on this adventure.”
Nemerguth continued, “I want to grow in talent, size, and passion; not only each year, but each and every day. I want to take these teams to a National Championship within their career at OUAZ. Most of all, I want to share with them an unforgettable experience with gifts of lifetime friendships and memories.”
Most recently, Nemerguth worked as the Social Media/HR Manager at Cardinals Management Group. She is also a current dance instructor at Bling Tour LLC in Surprise. Nemerguth was a graduate assistant cheer coach at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.
Nemerguth was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Her father works for ECI in St. Louis and her mother is a retired elementary school teacher. Nemerguth currently resides in Surprise.
