About the Director:     Michaela Rademacher

Come join, Michaela Rademacher, our new Director of Bands!  OUAZ’s newest staff member, she goes by "Rad" and is looking forward to building a marching band here at OUAZ!                                                       

Originally from Whittier, California (L.A. County), she attended San Jose State University for two years and then transferred to BYU-I. In both of these Universities, she was heavily involved in the music education programs, ranging from brass quintet, symphony orchestra, jazz band, marching band to early childhood music education, and voice pedagogy.  

During her time at SJSU, she became a pledged member of Mu Phi Epsilon. During the school year, she was an active member of the SJSU marching band and pep band.  During the summers, she was a member of Santa Clara Vanguard (2004 and 2005), shaping her marching career. 

Mrs. Rademacher has been a teacher in the Dysart Unified School District for the last 10 years. She and the band at Willow Canyon HS have competed steadily throughout her time there as Director of Bands. She has hosted and competed in ABODA, AzMBA, WGAZ and WGI circuits. She has acted as Band Director for the WIllow Canyon High School Marching Band, Willow Canyon Wind Ensemble, Willow Canyon Jazz Band, DUSD Theatre Band Director, Convergence Indoor Percussion and Convergence Winterguard.

She is married to her amazing husband of 13 years and they have a dog named Ahsoka Tano. She is very much looking forward to the next part of her journey here at OUAZ!
