Anthony Verdi
Verdi lettered in men’s basketball (1963-67). Men’s basketball assistant coach Bo Boucek tolk head coach Bill Frear that he should check out a kid playing intramural basketball in Wilson Field House.

Verdi helped the Braves to a record of 46-40 under head coach Bill Frear. He led the Braves to the 1966-67 KCAC Co-Championship. Verdi earned Honorable Mention NAIA All-American honors and was a First Team District 10 selection in 1966-67. He was a four-time First Team All-KCAC Selection.

In his four years as a Brave, Verdi put his name in the OU record book. He is ranked third in career scoring (1,725), second in career rebounds (856), first in career field goals attempted (1,541), third in career field goals made (688), sixth in career free throws attempted (474), fifth in career free throws made (347), second in career scoring average (20.1), sixth in single season scoring (594), eighth in single season rebounding (243), first in single season field goals attempted (544), third in single season field goals made (235), tied for first in single season scoring average (24.9), fifth in single game scoring (39), and tied for fifth in single game rebounding (20).
