Guzman lettered in cross country (1981-84) and track (1982-84) for the Lady Braves.

As a member of the women’s cross country team, Guzman won the 1981 Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Individual Championship. She ran the three mile race in a time of 19:40. Guzman also became the first Lady Brave in OU athletic program history to earn NAIA All-American honors, finishing 22nd.

On the track, Guzman helped the Lady Braves to the HAAC Indoor Track and Field Championship. She was the HAAC Indoor Track and Field Champion in the 1000 Yard Run and the two mile run. She also earned All-HAAC honors in the mile run. At the 1982 HAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Guzman was the HAAC three mile champion and earned All-HAAC honors in the mile run. In 1983, Guzman earned All-KCAC honors in the 1500M and 3000M at the KCAC Outdoor Championships. She was the KCAC Individual Champion in 1984 in the 3000M.
