Morgan lettered in football (1936-39), men’s basketball (1936-40), and track (1940).

As a member of the OU football team, Morgan helped the Braves to a four year record of 22-7-3. He was part of the 1938 and 1939 Kansas Conference Championship under head coach Dick Godlove. Morgan earned Second Team All-KS Conference honors at running back in 1938.

On the basketball court, Morgan led OU to a four year record of 50-22 and helped the Braves to three Kansas Conference Championships. He helped the Braves to the 1937-38 NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. Morgan earned Second Team All-KS Conference honors in 1936-37 and was a First Team All-KS Conference selection in 1938-39 and in 1939-40.

As a member of the Braves track and field team, Morgan was the 1940 KS Conference broad jump champion.
