Brown lettered in football (1958-61), basketball (1958-62), and track (1959-62).

On the gridiron, Brown was named First Team NAIA All-American in 1961. He was a Second Team All-KCAC selection at tight end in 1960 and in 1961 was earned First Team All-KCAC honors on both offense (tight end) and defense (defensive lineman). As a kicker, Brown led the KCAC in scoring and led the NAIA with 26 consecutive extra points. He helped lead the Braves to back-to-back KCAC Championships with a perfect 9-0 record in 1960 and 1961. In Brown’s four seasons, the Braves had a record of 35-10.

As a member of the Braves basketball team, Brown helped OU to a four year record of 55-44, two KCAC Championships, and two Kansas NAIA Playoff appearances.

Brown excelled in track and field as well. He was a 1961 All-KCAC performer in the discus and was the KCAC Champion in the two mile run. In 1962, Brown earned All-KCAC honors in the discus. He helped the Braves capture the 1959 and 1960 KCAC Team Championship.

After graduating from Ottawa University, Brown became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Litton Industries, Inc. He retired in 2000.
