Jefferson lettered in football (1959-62) for the Braves.
He helped lead OU to a three year record of 32-5 and to two perfect 9-0 seasons that resulted in KCAC Championships in 1960 and 1961. During Jefferson’s OU career, he helped lead the team to 23 consecutive wins.
Jefferson was named Second Team NAIA All-American in 1962. He earned First Team All-KCAC honors as an offensive lineman and as a linebacker in 1962. Jefferson also earned First Team All-KCAC at offensive lineman in 1961. He was an Honorable Mention All-KCAC selection as a defensive lineman in 1960.
After graduation, Jefferson taught and coached football, basketball, and track at Frankfort High School in Kansas.
