Stanley Bettin

Bettin participated in football (1957-60), basketball (1958-59), and golf (1958-1961) for the Braves. On the football field, Bettin helped OU to a four year record of 22-13 and an undefeated 9-0 KCAC Championship in 1960. He earned Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors at quarterback in 1960. Bettin is also ranked in the OU record book with the sixth longest pass from the line of scrimmage and sixth longest touchdown pass (76 yards vs. Baker University).

On the basketball court, Bettin was part of the 1958-59 KCAC Championship team. That season the Braves finished with an overall record of 17-8 and participated in the Kansas NAIA Playoffs against Fort Hays State University. As a member of the golf team, he helped the Braves to the 1960 KCAC Championship.

After graduating from Ottawa University, Bettin received his DDS from the University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC) in 1965. He is in private practice in Lyons, Kan. Bettin has been a member of the Ottawa University Board of Trustees since 1990 and is a past vice chair and chair. Bettin and his wife Elda have three children and five grandchildren who have all attended Ottawa University.
