Finney earned four letters on the football field (1960-63) as a Brave.
He led OU to a four year record of 35-3 and to two undefeated KCAC Championships in 1960 and 1961. Finney was a First Team NAIA All-American selection in 1963. He named First Team All-KCAC on defense in 1962 and earned First Team All-KCAC honors on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball in 1963. Finney was named co-captain as a senior.
