William Claflin

Claflin lettered in football (1946-49) for the Braves.

Claflin helped lead the Braves to a four year record of 25-10-2 playing for Wallace A. Forsberg and Dick Peters. He helped lead the Braves to two Kansas Conference Championships in 1947 and 1948. Claflin earned All-KS Conference honors as an offensive lineman in 1949.

After graduating from Ottawa University, Claflin went on to teach and coach in Waterville, Kan. and Holyoke, Colo. from 1950 to 1967. He then went on to become an associate professor in education at Fort Hays State University, spending 20 years at FHSU. Because of his dedication to science in the classroom, Claflin was recognized as Outstanding Teacher of the Year by the Kansas Association of Teachers of Science.
