Public & Media Relations

The Office of Public Relations serves the entire Ottawa University community and its campuses, and is the primary interface with press and media outlets on all communications issues. The office coordinates news updates, press releases, media alerts, personnel announcements, and honors pronouncements, as well as composes publications such as the Ottawa Spirit magazine and the University's Annual Report. The public relations manager produces articles, research, and projects to recognize the work of faculty, staff, students, and alumni, and to promote the overall vision, mission and values of Ottawa University.

Ottawa University Arizona has announced that they have received a grant from the Enterprise Mobility Foundation for their Surprise residential campus in Arizona. This grant will provide $25,000 in support to continue Personal Growth Day Programming (PGD).

Cassidy Shaffer, whose high school experience was disrupted by COVID-19, adapted by taking advantage of online learning and college courses, ultimately earning 40 college credits before graduating. She was later accepted into Ottawa University's Pathway Program, which will allow her to complete both a bachelor's and a master's degree in business administration by December 2025.

Ottawa University (KS) Braves Athletics is proud to announce a partnership with Opendorse, a nationally recognized leader in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) landscape and a 2023 Time Magazine Top 100 Most Influential Companies, to create an all-in-one NIL platform for the department.

On February 28, 2024, more than 100 prospective students, along with parents and school counselors, converged on the OUAZ campus for Spirit Stampede Visit Day, a day filled with rodeo-themed fun, food, activities, and information. Joining them were 300 current OUAZ students, who not only enjoyed the activities along with the visitors but showcased the Ottawa Spirit to their guests.

The Ottawa Spirit is a publication produced twice annually, in the spring and fall, by the University's Public Relations and Advancement departments. This publication showcases the significant accomplishments and achievements of those who live and embrace the Ottawa Spirit.
