Mahsa Maghsoudi is an Assistant Professor and the Kansas Counseling Program Director in the School of Arts and Sciences with an office located at the Overland Park, Kansas, campus. She received her B.A. in Counseling and Guidance from Allameh Tabatabaei University, her M.S. in Counseling from the University of North Texas, and her Ph.D. from University of Texas at San Antonio. Her research examines practical approaches to enhance counselor educators and clinical supervisors’ competence focused on education and supervision of counselors-in-training regarding serving underrepresented and marginalized populations.
Mahsa has been teaching at Ottawa University since 2026 and has taught various classes including the Enneagram Personality in Counseling, Identities and Experiences, Techniques of Counseling, Practicum and Internship, Foundations of Counseling, Group Counseling, and Counseling Theories. Mahsa has served as an Initial Reader/Consultant for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, and has severed on the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board’s Professional Counseling Advisory Committee, in addition to chairing several committees of the American Counseling Association and the Kansas Counseling Association.
