Dr. Yana Dashevsky is the Associate Professor of Biology at OUAZ. She joined Ottawa University full time in 2018 at the opening of the Surprise campus in Arizona after having been an adjunct faculty for nearly 16 years.
Dr. Yana completed her bachelor’s degree in Biology graduated magna cum laude from Western New England University. She earned her doctorate degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, the only medical school in the country that combines conventional as well as holistic medicine curriculum. After completion of a two-year residency program in internal medicine, Dr. Yana focused on private practice and teaching. During her teaching experience, she was honored to be invited as a guest lecturer by many colleges and universities in the United States and abroad. Dr. Yana has extensive experience in course and curriculum development, as well as in academic advising and student mentoring.
Dr. Yana teaches general biology, microbiology, medical terminology, genetics, and human physiology. She is excited to share her knowledge and expertise with all of her students. In her classrooms, Dr. Yana strives to create a challenging, yet comfortable environment where each and every student has an opportunity to embark on a journey of personal growth and academic exploration.
