Meet the Team

Born and raised in Vermont, Tyner finished his high school career in Kansas. Upon graduation, he enrolled at Ottawa University, where he discovered a campus that felt like home and was a great personal fit. While a student at OU, Tyner served as the vice president of the DECA (business club), which was first started during his tenure. He graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree, with a concentration in entrepreneurship. 

Tyner enjoys traveling the country, watching and participating in sports, listening to music and watching movies. He resides in Ottawa with his wife Laurie and two kids.

Advice to Students:
"Take full advantage of college and be open to trying new things. Get out of your comfort zone. Your college experience is only as good as YOU make it!"

Born in Virginia but raised in Kansas where my dad was stationed. I attended Ottawa University to play soccer from 2015-17 after transferring from a JUCO. I received my graduate degree in 2021 while raising my son. In my free time, I spend it with my husband, son, and twin daughters. We like to go to sporting events on campus, the park, bike rides, or just hanging out on our front porch swing watching movies.

Advice to Students:

Start early, take your time, and put in the effort to find a school that best fits you and your family. The school you choose will be your home away from home, so make sure it’s the perfect fit.

In my time away from the university, I love spending time with my wife Heather and our three kids, Camden, Gabriel, and Addison. Coaching all of the kids' youth athletic teams is a personal interst of mine. When not at the athletic fields I spend my time enjoying music and watching movies or sporting events.

Advise to Students:

Start as early as possible to give yourself the most time to make one of the most important decisions of your life. The school you choose will produce some of the best memories in your lifetime.

I was born and raised in Kansas but have lived in Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Missouri.  Before coming to Ottawa University, I taught Jr. high and high school Business at Western Plains, Labette County, and Marmaton Valley school districts.  I have a Great Dane/Chocolate Lab named Gemini. We enjoy walking different trails and volunteering at the Chanute Historical Museum as docents.

Advice to Students:

"If you have a problem in class, always talk to your professors even if you have to camp-out at their office."

Born and raised in Israel with a stop in England. Graduated from University High School in Los Angeles in 2003. Moved to the Kansas City area in 2012 to attend the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS. Completed my B.A in Sports Management in 2015 and returned for my MBA in 2017 where I was also a Graduate Assistant for the football program. I have a big passion for sports, music, food and J.R.R Tolkien.

Advise to Students:

Don’t follow your dreams, forge a path for them.

Born and raised in California, I decided to take a leap of faith and wrap up my undergraduate experience while exploring what Ottawa University has to offer. I played volleyball for the Braves from 2021 until 2023, when I was retired due to injury. Since then, I earned my master's degree while working in the admissions office and working as the Director of Operations for our men's, women's, and beach volleyball programs. In the free time I have, I enjoy reading and spending time with friends, family, and my two cats, Milo and Poke.

Advice to Students: 

"Stop and breathe. The college search is a stressful time, but it can also be really exciting. At the end of the day, it is important to make the best decision for YOU and remember that the experience will be as good as you make it."
