Campus Ministries

The Campus Ministries department fosters a welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds to explore their faith, minister to others, and connect with fellow believers. We aid students in the development of their spiritual gifts by providing unconditional love, encouragement and resources. As we walk with students during their spiritual journey, we want each student to have a transformational encounter with Jesus Christ. In all we do, we want Christ Jesus to be the center of our attention.

Bible studies are student-led and typically meet once per week. Currently, we have a men's Bible study and two women's Bible studies regularly meeting.

Chapel services are available to  students, faculty, staff and community members. Chapel typically consists of worship music led by our Praise Team followed by a message from either a student, faculty member, staff member or member of the community.

Meeting Day and Time: Thursday, 11:00 a.m.
Meeting Location: Fredrikson Chapel

We are a Spirit-empowered, diverse community of believers on university campuses, declaring in word and lifestyle our faith in Jesus Christ, equipped to fulfill our purpose in God’s global plan. We reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through Spirit-filled communities of prayer, worship, fellowship, discipleship.

Escape is a retreat event for OU students to break away from campus to refresh and recommit. This event takes place once each semester.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes reaches out to our student-athletes by sponsoring activities and events. The group meets weekly to discuss God and how He has been working on campus, specifically within athletics. At each meeting, students typically fellowship through an activity and receive an encouraging message for the week.

Meeting Day and Time: Wednesday, 9:01 p.m.
Meeting Location: Gangwish Library, Pelton Lounge

Each year Campus Ministries plans a spring break mission trip. Students have traveled to Chicago, Pennsylvania and Mississippi to work in the inner city. All Ottawa University students are welcome to participate in these mission trips.

Peer Ministry Leadership teaches students how to become relational leaders and how to minister to their peers. One weekend training is held at the beginning of each semester to discuss Listening, Helping and Welcoming in detail.

Meeting Details: Mini-sessions are held throughout each semester bi-weekly.

Praise Team is an opportunity for students to share their musical talents through worship at weekly Chapel.

Meeting Details: Rehearsal time is determined based on member schedules
