Updates will be made regularly to this page in the sections below by area. We will be making changes and modifications regularly on this page, so we encourage you to check back often. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to complete the form in the section below.

  • Face masks will be REQUIRED on campus, except in personal living spaces (rooms only).
  • Campus visitors will be REQUIRED to undergo a health screening, and wear a mask and display provided visitors badge throughout the visit.
  • Tele-health, tele-medicine and tele-therapy services will be available for all OU students.
  • Self-monitor stations and signage will be found around campus to allow students to do a self-screening and provide next steps.

  • Limiting large group gatherings, when possible.
  • Encouraging students to monitor and report any symptoms related to COVID-19.
  • Limiting employee travel outside of Kansas.
  • Increasing safety measures for visitors and guests on campus.

  • Following KDHE, CDC, Franklin County Health Department guidelines on food safety and services.
  • Limited capacity in the Bistro at one time, as regulated by health officials.
  • Eliminated self-serve options.
  • Requiring all Hetrick Bistro employees to be subject to daily temperature checks and are required to wear masks and gloves at all times.
  • Increased disinfecting of high-touch items and areas in the Bistro.
  • Prepared for temporary closures (when necessary) to facilitate deep sanitation of areas.

American Dining Creations

  • Employee Heatlh Screenings
    • Touchless temperature readings will be taking at the beginning of each shift
    • Logs will be posted and monitored by the on-site manager
    • Employees with a temperature above 100.1 will be sent home, per CDC guidelines.
       
  • Personal Protective Gear
    • All employees will be issued and required to wear PPE, including face masks and disposable gloves.
       
  • Sanitation
    • Hand sanitizer will be available to employees at all points of contact.
    • Enhanced sanitiation of the Hetrick Bistro and seating after each service.
    • Clean and sanitize all vending machines, markets and coffee/water break areas per service.
       
  • Social Distancing
    • Posted signs throughout the Hetrick Bistro
    • Floor signs by the serveries to mark appropriate distancing.
    • Redesigned seating area for seating.
    • Controlled access to Hetrick Bistro with scheduled meal times (per CDC guidelines).

  • Organizing virtual orientation sessions from July 15 – July 31.
  • Limiting large group activities and sessions when possible.
  • Shortened the duration of orientation.
  • Attempting to complete clearance process prior to students arriving to campus.
  • Adjusted student check-in process to include:
    • health screening prior to moving into University-sponsored housing
    • all students and guests are encouraged to wear masks and practice appropriate social distancing. UPDATED ON 6/30/20
