WELCOME

Dear Parents and Families,

I am delighted to have this opportunity to welcome you and your family to OUAZ.

The Office of Students Affairs is committed to partnering with you as you assist your student in having a rich and rewarding experience at OUAZ. This website is designed to make the transition just a little bit easier for you and your student by providing important information and other news that will help you stay connected to what’s happening here on campus.

When students come to college, they often experience challenges that may overwhelm or confuse them as they make new friends, adjust to new academic and behavioral expectations, and encounter periods of growth, self-reflection, and independence. Please know that you are joining a community filled with experienced administrators, faculty, and staff who are eager to support you in this journey. By partnering with parents and family members, we offer a unique, student-centered experience as students’ progress through OUAZ and ultimately move on to productive and professional lives. We hope that this website will be a valuable resource for you and your student, that it will provide a sense of comfort and support, and that it makes you aware of the services available to your student as they are immersed in the OUAZ experience.

In the Office of Student Affairs, we know the vital role parents and family members play in the lives of students. Also, we acknowledge the sacrifices you have made—and the emotional adjustment it takes—to send your student to a new home-away-from-home. We are honored to welcome you as members of the OUAZ community and look forward to working with you to give your student a truly memorable OUAZ experience. We hope you’ll visit campus often. Attend athletic events. Make OUAZ your home-away-from-home as well.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Student Affairs at ouazsa@ottawa.edu if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you at OUAZ events.
